2010 to 2016My
So if i go for this landmark offer from my dealer, what differences are there between the 2010 and the 2016MY
As far as I know
Ad Blu (Ad Boo more like)
Fancy lights
8 Speed box, paddles and rotary gear knob with associated changes to cruising revs etc
Updated nav system
Radio station now shows in drivers binnacle
Is rear wash wipe the other way around now, push to operate instead of pull
Suspension slightly rejogged though this could be due to 20" wheels
Smaller wing mirrors???
Is road tax less now?
Slightly more economical?
Reversing camera not blinded at night by number plate light (I think my car is the oonly car in the country like this though. Lines turn on screen when reversing and turning
Anything else?
Warranty, free servicing, breakdown cover, and that smug new car feeling

stop/start grrr
TPMS - ok but had to replace valves on winter wheels
radio shuts down v quickly when stopped - clearly don't trust battery!
central cubby hole smaller
no blind spot on mirrors
entertainment system and navigation slower to boot up, and pair, and to work out where you are
good bits- rear camera better
if phone disconnects, can ask it to reconnectd4 HSE

Stop start is extremely useful - it's a major factor in fooling the official CO2 figures, to a point where it saves around £200 a year in VED
The smaller mirrors are surprisingly effective and give no wind noise.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Can't fault my 16MY SE, and IMO it's better than my 12MY GS, yes it has the ambient temperature issue but that will get sorted in time. Mirrors seem fine to me and the stop/start, well, can't really see what the fuss is all about, no issue with it.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Whilst I wasn't keen, I did find the stop/start on my loan D4 from this week was much better than I thought it would be.
My D4 has 19" alloys, so thought I wouldn't be keen on the 20's, but actually I really liked the ride and handling of it and the 8 speed gearbox was very smooth, although the lever twice failed to make an appearance during the 2 days I had it.Andy

How do you find actual consumption between an early and late 8 speed? I'm going to the dealers this weekend to see how the numbers stack up........Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Fuel consumption is better, I have a 2012 but dealer lent me a my16,
At a steady 60 mph on a dual carriageway it said 41 mpg...

As the owner of a MY16 and having driven 11,000 miles in it, I can tell you that an indicated 41mpg is the on board computer's cruel disception!
I live in an area devoid of motorways, with few dual carriageways and with a few hills (but very few traffic jams) and return around 26-27mpg in average use in mine. Take it on a long trip, with proper motorways, but without hills and I'm happy if I can crack 30mpg.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

I also did the change from a 2010MY to a 2016MY - if you have the opportunity to change, go for it !
All being well temp display issue will be resolved before its handed over to you.

Only today realised the landmark comes with TV and RSE, that might win the wife over. Now having a mad moment of wondering if zanzibar a good idea? or will resale value be shocking!
