Smart Repair - would you?

So thanks to last weeks snow and another motorist's lack of driving skill Rolling Eyes I need to get my rear wheel arches rubbed down and re-painted. The damage is minor and nothing more than a scuff to both parts of the arch but I have had an estimate from a LR bodyshop for £400 which seems pretty excessive.

Although the other party have agreed to pay I wonder if a smart-repair technician could do a good job for less? I have had mixed reports of these services so wonder what people's thoughts are and if there are any recommendations for good ones in West Yorks?

I've used a smart repair centre for bumper repairs and painting on an Audi. A colleague used the same place for painting wheel arches on his D3. The work was excellent and almost embarrassingly cheap, but we've used this place a few times in the past.

You defo need personal recommendations. Thumbs Up

I've had very good service at the Chestefield Chips Away branch and would use them again

Thanks had a look at the Chips Away website and they claim to offer a lifetime guarantee on their work which seems pretty good.

I probably would not use them for a metal panel as I'd be concerned about paint blending/matching and corrosion risk etc but for a lightly scuffed plastic arch it seems like a better option perhaps?

Do the D4 arches come body coloured from LR - if so, what would a new one cost - clip one off, clip one on?

Or even a find one from a breakers - what colour is yours?

Second hand pre painted arch is certainly an option but not found any yet. Mine is Stornaway grey so popular colour.

I imagine a new pair from a dealer would be more expensive than the repaint but not looked into that as presumed they would not come painted

If you popped them off yourself and just took them into a paint place, wonder how much they'd charge to rub down and paint?

I've used these guys.
http://www.sprayteq.co.uk/services.html
They primarily travel around the prestige dealerships in the Harrogate/Ripon area and offer a wide variety of repairs.
Had some work done by Chris whilst in Ripon Land Rover and have used him since.
Excellent job and price plus he's a real nice chap to deal with.
Cannot recommend them highly enough.

If it's good enough for them ....

I used a smart repair on my Mauritius blue Fl2s bumper and couldn't fault the workmanship. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
