Guy Salmon in Northampton? They have actually offered a decent deal to be fair, not the 10% but there is also a dealer in MK and one in Bedford. All 3 are trying hard for my business. I've advertised the wife's car so if it sold I wouldn't have to part ex either.

Try webuyanycar and then after that evans halshaw, they guarantee to beat wbac, they did quite substantially for me. Thumbs Up

From looking at the Carwow website it would appear that they might work as others do in our industry.
In our trade, these companies set up a website promising to get you provided with lots of highly competitive quotes and save you cash.
In reality, those organisations simply sell your details to a number of dealers, who then contact you and quote. It's just like walking into a dealer, except the dealer has to allow for the cost of the lead fee when adding up his own costs and then writing your quote.
What really sucks is when you've had long conversations with a client about a product, provide all the necessary quotes and then one of these parasites gets in touch to sell your their contact details Evil or Very Mad inevitably, they've just been onto their site hoping to get a cheaper deal!
It doesn't surprise me that no one returned your calls. The dealers will have told them to stick their fees where the sun don't shine. These people only add to dealer's overall costs and guess who has to pay in the end?!

I had a great service from them, they have a dedicated person in the dealerships they deal with so there is ownership of the issue and you're not left to fend for yourself.

£44100 for a black graphite via Carwow. Stock vehicle I think so no ability to alter spec.

Take the 10%, as others have said it's pretty good, LR are one of the few manufacturers who don't need to discount their products to get them to sell. So when it's on the table take it.

Autohouse

Can I suggest trying Autohouse if you are looking for a deal.

I think they are part of a bigger group but I was looking for a landmark with pretty much everything on it and they were 8-10% cheaper than list.

The only problem was they are based in the midlands but I took their quote and shopped around more local dealers and one was happy to match their offer! New disco due in April.

Autohouse were great all the way through, just a bit far away and so if someone more local would match it, it made sense to go with that.

Cheers

I'm also looking at the D4 Graphite. Spec I am after is Black, almond leather, tow pack, privacy glass and InControl Apps. Are there any options that would make a significant difference at trade in?

Autohouse have this spec listed at just under £46k, a saving of £3,400 off list, which isn't bad.

Car wow doesn't seem to be coming up with much. Drive The Deal doesn't do Land Rover. Broadspeed aren't showing prices for the Graphite yet.

I can't claim to be the best negotiator when buying new cars - any ideas on how to get the 10% level of discounts being talked about?

What's the general view on whether prices will come down as the D5 is announced (expected to be in May)? You'd normally expect prices to go down but Land Rovers prices seem to defy gravity.

As an aside, does anyone know the typical waiting times for new D4 orders these days?

My first ever post... please be gentle...

2016 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Aintree GreenDiscovery 4

Ordered my Discovery HSE in August and got it in December. When I picked it up the Dealer was quoting March/April delivery for orders placed in December. But it does depend on Dealer as some get more slots than others. There is a major problem rapidly approaching which is that the final production date of the current Discovery is not that far away and there are limited build slots left.

As for discounts, at the moment virtually every Land Rover is sold before it's built and the factory is running at full capacity, so there's not a lot of incentive to discount.

Suspect prices of current Discovery will hold up quite well, just look at what's happening to Freelander 2 prices!

For prices, you could do worse than look at the WhatCar target price!

Thanks for the reply - when do you think the last order dates will be for the D4?

Generally speaking and for the reasons described above, I'd be incredibly surprised if you could walk into a Land Rover dealer and get anywhere near 10%. 5% is achievable at a push and you'd have to be very lucky to get that.

I rang three dealers to see if they could beat the hard bartered 5% discount my local dealer gave me and they all quite quickly refused.

That's a shame, but matches my experience. My local dealer, Lookers in Chipperfield, are offering a 5% deposit contribution on a PCP on an MY16 SE Tech, so 10% on a Graphite would have me ordering now (subject to my domestic finance department approval...)

10% is exceptional in my experience. I battled hard (i thought) and got 8% + an NFU discount so 10 without NFU is very good.

I had no responses on Carwow

My final deal was actually nearer to 12% I'm very happy and looking forwards to collection.
