2015 D4 HSE lux valuation input help |
|
I've decided to sell my Discovery and looking through some of the threads and posts, there seems to be a massive variation in projected and actual valuations on a vehicle this age.
I'd prefer to avoid the purchase dealer - at this stage - and so, where is the best place to get a fair and market valuation for a private sale.
If I ask the dealer to buy it back, they will presumably quote me a figure and sell it with the backing and assurance of the company but I would be grateful for advice on how I factor the difference in price they may offer me - and what I can subsequently advertise it, as a fair priced private sale through the classified ads.

Very hard to value such a new vehicle outside of the main dealer network. Trying to find a private buyer with that sort of cash (hard to get finance on a private sale) could prove to be difficult.
A dealer will extract the Michael I'm afraid on a valuation, they'll want their cake, and eat it!!
It's the nature of the beast when you sell inside the 1st year. Be prepared for some heartache I've done it a few times over the years and been well and truly hammered.
All I could suggest is look at what price LR are putting them on the forecourts at, place a classified at a slightly discounted price and see what happens. You never know, they're could be someone out there with that sort of cash burning a hole in their pocket. Good luck Discovery 4 HSE

many thanks for all of these good suggestions.
A bit of suck it and see regarding what someone will pay for it but I'll place it initially in the private's and see how it goes.

If you don't want to try the dealer you bought it I would still give one ago. My dealer offered to buy mine back for an extremely good price the other week. Your variant can't be ordered now and there are people wanting high spec D4s due to concerns over the D5 price. MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten
MY12 HSE - Gone
MY16 HSE Luxury - Sold
MY20 D5 HSE - Sold
