Warped discs or not?

I’ve recently had the belts done on my MY11 D4, and while it was in they also changed the front suspension hydra bushes as apparently there was evidence of quite a bit of play.

Since I’ve had the car back, I’ve noticed a strange issue under braking…. it feels just like I’ve got warped discs. That thumping and shake through the steering is quite annoying, but here’s the thing… it only does it sometimes ???

There doesn’t seem to be a pattern, it doesn’t vibrate if I’m only braking gently, but sometimes it’s also smooth under heavy braking too. I can’t really predict when it’s going to shake like warped discs and when it isn’t.

Anyone have an idea what this might be before I go back to the dealer stamp my feet and look like an idiot!

if its warped discs, then its usually fairly consistant. One mine it would do it every time under gentle braking from high speed. If I pressed the brake pedal harder it would stop shaking the steering wheel as the discs got grabbed harder.

yours sounds like it might be something else

Caliper slider sticking.

Remove caliper, clean slider and grease lightly.

Reassemble and should be sorted.

Don't think it's warped discs.
I had that but it was pretty consistent and not so bad
