How to disable 1 reverse sensor.
Hi.
Recently fitted a spare wheel carrier on the rear but its causing havoc with the reverse sensors. It thinks that im really close to something all the time.
Is there any way to train the sensors or disable 1 sensor?
Cheers

I've had a rear wheel carrier for about 8 years and had the same issue.
There are two ways to overcome it:
1. Hard way - you can modify the wiring loom at the rear of the bumper. I have the diagrams somewhere if you really want to do this.
2. Easy way - get a bicycle puncture repair kit. Find the round rubber patch closest to the size of the sensor itself. Stick patch on - job done. You just need something to 'absorb' the signal.
On mine it was the inner RH sensor - directly below the handle.I see no ships........

Will try the puncture repair kit first. Then go to an angled sensor.
After i figure out why they have suddenly stopped working. Dam cars

Are you covering the correct sensor? Or is there more than one effected?
What make carrier do you have? I have a Rasta and used to have a Big Country and the patch worked fine on both types.
You need to absorb the signal - have you tried temporarily blanking them all and them removing a patch at a time?
I did this using the small 'rubber' blocks that are put on double glazed units before fitting - just hold them in place with tape while you test.I see no ships........

There is a switch on the dash to turn them off or you can disable them in the CCF.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Not got round to fitting my wheel carrier yet but all the research I have done suggests a rubber patch should do the job.==================================
