Few faults on my new disco3 commerical
So being so impressed with my normal disco, I longed for a commercial d3 for work instead of a van. Last week a friend who's in the motor trade had a contact in the south of Ireland, who had one traded into him.
I bought it for around £3500 quite cheap I know, it has 290 thousand kilometres on the clock and a few age related marks but I still LOVED it, when we collected it all lights on the dash were out and the jeep drove ok home, a few clonking noises but from reading this site previously I put it down to bushes.
The next morning battery flat open battery cover and found a tiny battery, actually surprised it would be enough to start the engine. Got it going through jump leads and dash lit like a Xmas tree.
Brought it to my mechanic who did the belts and fixed my central locking on my other d3, knows about land rovers. He hooked up his computer and cleared the codes took short drive 100 yards and all lights returned, he replaced 2 brake light bulbs and re calibrated my steering senSor. Majority of lights are off apart from 2. And two codes keep returning u0126 and p181d. He said it looks like the trasmission module removed it and dismantled it looking for corrosion but none found and the jeep won't select the low range
He hadn't much time to spare so he build it back up and told me to come back on Monday, he thinks I'm going to either need a module or a motor.
I hadn't noticed previously but now in 2nd 4th and 6th I can hear like a rasping noise like a gear not fully engaged, I also now think the clunking noise may not be bushes because when turning I get a loud thunder the whole way through the jeep.
It's a 2005 2.7tdv6 manual with no terrain control or air suspension
Any advice ?

It looks like your transfer case clutch is always in locked possition. Try engage low high ranges when gearbox in Neutral at first. If that does not help try to recalibrate transfer case with proper diagnostic tool. It might be faulty solenoid at transfer case or wires from transfer case control module to transfer case sensor, solenoid or motor as well.Discovery 3 TDV8 3.6 facelifted to MY14

You know what I mean when I say jeep lol
It won't engage low range at all. I don't know if the flat battery would have caused this but I highly doubt it could have. I didn't have the lights on when picking it up and I didn't check low on the test drive

Have you actually put in a new correct battery, as having a small/wrong one will cause no end of errors?
