I would be interested in your rebuild especially using the tabbed bearings - anything to note on the rebuild?

Starting problem, did you use a new trigger ring (for the crankshaft sensor) on the rear of the crankshaft and how did you time it up?
There is a special tool to time it up correctly.

Look at this thread

It would be good if one of you brave souls who are pioneering engine rebuilds could put together a photographed 'How to'

However, I do know that the trigger ring is critical and others have fallen foul of it not functioning correctly.

The fault code says injector timing, not valve timing, I doubt the engine would turn over if valve timing on one bank was out 180 degrees.
Is it possible to fit the injector pipes wrong?
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Have you checked to ensure all the wiring harnesses are attached properly if it is just one bank.

Just a thought.

The injectors are controlled by the ecu, make sure your connections are on secure and on the correct injector, also check your connections to PCM ecu as well.

wonder if the injector has failed
do you have to re-program a new injector

I believe a spill test would help identify if the injector has failed. Also if you have an IID tool you should be able to look at live data for the injectors.

Does this mean the engine is now running?

Yes the engine is running sounds very good does have a tap pet noise I think one of the hydraulic tappers have not filled with oil .
The bearing I believe are from a d4
I was told they are an up rated bearings and crank for the d3
