you can check the level of add blue in its tank from the on-board computer
perhaps it has not been filled up on Pdi?
Full tank should be enough for around 16K

My one has done 1,500mls and has 15,500mls worth of Ad Blue left. You can check via the service menu.

Could be that it's not been topped up or you have the DEF fault.

Generally as stated above but I remember one D4 owner on here having some real problems with the adblu system shortly after delivery, I believe that was something to do with the spec of the adblu fluid.

Edit:

Just did a quick search but couldn't find the thread mention above, but I did find this one about AdBlu in 2008, makes for some interesting (humourous) reading Rolling with laughter

Mine suggested that the AdBlue would last for over 15,000 miles when it was new. With 9,400 miles driven, it now reports only around 2,500 miles of AdBlue remain.

Ignition on (don't start engine)

Press OK on the steering wheel

Down to SERVICE MENU

Press OK

Down to DEF LEVEL or something or other.

Bare in mind temperature has an affect on AdBlue, Freezes at -11 and evaporates quickly in warmer temperatures. So though you may not do a lot of miles you will still lose AdBlue.
