Any good deals been had lately ?
Not me,I'm trying to keep a friend in the LR family.....
He's just been into our local dealer and looked at part-exing his car against a new one.....he can't find a single HSE of the same year and spec as his current one below £40k anywhere, and the dealer just offered him £34k against a new one, with nothing off the other end either......
He's now looking at a Land Cruiser or a Merc GL as he says they're both offering 10-12% off list with good part-ex also.....
To say he's not very happy is an understatement....
So has anyone seen good deals for cash buyers with a car to part ex ?"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

I half heartedly enquired about a six month old HSE at £46k with 8k on the clock, they did have another priced at £50k which had 1200 on the clock, the £50k one sold, the £46k one has since increased in price twice in two weeks to £50k now.

Perhaps once the new registrations are out of the way they might be having a 'used car event', which might explain the price increases Andy

My friend just put his car into WBAC for a comparison, and it came back at £39k.....Hardly scientific, but as a guide level,if the dealer has offered him £34k p/ex I don't think that's trying very hard for his business personally."Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

And Evans halshaw guarantee to beat that.
A low trade in is good as long as it results in a good discount for the one you are buyingJoined the BMWX5 45e group

Exactly Dave,it's cost to change he's interested in,but the dealer offered him a very poor trade-in and virtually nothing off the new car......
I usually joke with them that LRs sell themselves, and they have the easiest job in the World, but I'd expect them to have to work a bit harder than that "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

This used to be the bane of an old friend of mine's working life. He'd been in the motor trade for nearly all his working life. To cut a long story short, he'd end up giving a quoted price for the new car and a trade in valuation, only to be told how much more discount and trade in value the Citroen dealer would be giving. If a manufacturer throws that much money at their dealers, to shift unloved cars, then collosal discounts and inflated trade ins are the order of the day. LR don't need to do it.
Let's hope that LR spend some of the retained cash on a fit for purpose Customer Services Department... 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
