Webasto not warming the cabin

Hi all,

A FBH / Webasto question: The FBH on my 2007 TDV6 starts normally and warms the engine but there is no warm air coming to the cabin. Have you had same kind of problems? What is the most propable reason for this malfunction?

It's designed to assist the engine in getting to operating temperature quicker and not to warm the cabin directly. The fact that the engine warms quicker though means that the cabin gets warmer quicker. You can operate the FBH remotely with a kit which means that you can start its warming action before you even get into the vehicle.

That's partly true but all Webastos on my previous cars have also warmed up the cabin. Is it really so that Webasto on D3 is only warming the engine not the cabin too?

Yes, unless you have a Danhag kit fitted that will control the HVAC too Thumbs Up

Sorry to hijack the thread, question ! My heater now works after being unlocked but seems very smoky with strong smell of fuel, has anyone used a fuel additive that reduces smoke from your exhaust (although my engine is not smoky) to solve whatever is causing the problem or must you take the FBH to bits to resolve the smoke, many thanks.

No Laughing

Here's a basic video about Webasto:

Is it really so that Land Rover has disabled this basic function of Webasto? Why? Can't understand...

In this application its basic function is to provide additional heat to the engine, as the TDV6 produces relatively little waste heat.

I thought it odd too as my FFRR petrol had it and it vented heated to the cabin whereas
On the D3 it didn't.

Thankfully they brought it back for the D4 so you
Can warm the cabin with HVAC control.

As Beanie said, you need to add the Danhag kit for HVAC... A worthwhile addition if you are keeping the car a few years Thumbs Up

Got it now - thanks! I have change to D4 then. Can't live with this kind of "Webasto" in Finland.

Jokkeri - cabin heating is not standard on most D4 either. You have to add the timed and remote climate and the necessary hardware to be able to do what you want. Search the forum and you will find lots of information.

It is very obvious why LR do not include this functionality as standard - so they can charge a lot of money for it as an optional extra.

Guys,

I'm not so sure my FBH is working currently it has in the past but I've not noticed the smoke kick in or the distinctive smell for a few weeks is there a way to test or check for working?

Any help would be appreciated.

one issue at the moment the weather has been mild and likely its not been low enough for it to kick in.... But worth getting it tested
