Engine Noise in Passenger Cabin

Hi,

Over the past couple weeks, I have noticed an unusual whooshing sound spilling over into the passenger cabin from the engine area. The noise is emanating from the drivers side right hand bottom
Corner. It doesn't occur all the time, only when I put my foot down at low speeds to accelerate and also I am Driving at higher speeds. It almost seems like the turbo activating. But I can't seem to understand why the notice is spilling into the cabin.
There are no tears or gaps in the driver's door seal that would allow the noise to creep into the cabin. Either something is failing (and making more noise than usual) or something has some seal has come undone between the engine and the cabin, allowing the noise to come through.

It's all very 'tightly' packed in that area from the engine side and also the cabin side. Would be grateful if someone could shed some light on it, before I start opening it all up.

Thanks,

Mani

Search for split intercooler hose/pipe and crossover pipe.

Turns out the intercooler to turbo (the long pipe) is split. Wasn't sure what I was looking for, but worked it out in the end and found the fault.

Additional symptoms which developed over time was black smoke coming out the exhaust on acceleration (which indicated it was something to do with the turbo).

Britpart Silicon replacement ordered, waiting to be installed.

Thanks for your help Smile
