2012 LR4 HSE

Hi guys - been wondering as i am looking at buying a 2012 LR4 HSE. Can you explain the difference between the two gear boxes (the stick/rotating knob) ?

Hi, the gearbox moved to 8 speed transmission was the main update (and apparently that was a good thing) here is a link to the UK model year updates

Thanks mate - im being offered the 2012 with the 6 gear automatic. Its the HSE version with bigger engine thou . . .

Seems strange. 8 speed box came in with MY2012, I have a D4 registered in Dec 2011 and its 8 speed. So maybe that car was registered later, slightly odd.

I've heard that the 8 speed is more reliable than the 6..... any truth to that? The twirly knob is terrian selection Wink
