Doh! I've just posted about the Graphite and Landmark elsewhere.

What they don't say in the article is that these limited editions will be the only Discos available.

On the French configurator the S, SE, HSE & HSE Lux have all now disappeared.

Which dealer was that? - I asked my local dealer if they would take a reservation and the reply was "as far as we are aware the official release is going to be 2017 for the Discovery 5... ... there is no word on an order call for the 2017 model at this time"!!!

Well, I'm off on Friday to take a nose at these. Might get my wallet out Whistle

Anyways - has anyone bought one and wants to comment in a positive sort of critical way, on the spec, either model? What is missing? They're trying quite hard to shift them so I'm thinking there's some major disappointment buried in there somewhere...!

Not aware of either spec being a major disappointment, but then it depends on what you are expecting.

A few things spring to mind:

- colour range is limited, especially on the Landmark

- Graphite can't have memory seats

- Graphite was showing heated steering wheel and remote park heating as options but these are now not showing, but my dealer says they may reappear

- there is no rear climate available on either model, even as an option

- both cars have the black pack (or version thereof) so if you like a shiny chromey car, not ideal

- the Graphite is like the old SE Tech but with a few extras

- the Landmark is like the old HSE but with a few extras

- with both models being fairly high spec, they are expensive

For me, the Landmark didn't offer nearly enough above the Graphite to warrant the big price difference, but the one thing I'll miss is the memory seats.

I'll be interested if you do spot something disappointing in the spec. The dealers I spoke to before buying didn't seem to be struggling to sell them at all.

Cheers

Lots of omissions on the options list, including locking rear diff.

If you want fake wood trim, you now need to spend another £465 on a half timbered steering wheel.

Good grief! I've just been on to the configurator and there are very few factory options showing on the Landmark now. Most of them seem to have been removed Shocked

Graphite has Active Locking Rear Differential as an option. It isn't manual though.

Doesn't seem to be an option for the Landmark.

E-Diff specced on SWMBO's Graphite, lack of memory seat option was annoying, can't see why it's not a choice.

I don't think they were on previous models either unless you had an HSE or better. I haven't missed anything, Graphite is like a MY 12 XS plus, certainly more than I used to have Thumbs Up

The factory options are definitely starting to thin out as production nears its end. If you want a car with specific options, I wouldn't hang around.

If price is more important, dealers have cars that they have bought in advance and it is these that are most heavily discounted, but you lose out on choosing your favourite factory options. The ones available when I was looking all had sunroofs, were grey or black, electric seats, heated steering wheel and privacy glass. I didn't want a sunroof but did want a tow bar, extended roof bars and Loire Blue, so it was a factory order for me.

You probably already know that the D4 misses out on a load of modern features such as powered boot opening, automatic emergency breaking, decent sat nav, rear seat adjustment, lane departure warning etc. The Graphite and Landmark are no different in these areas. Some see these as missing features, others as fewer things to go wrong Smile

You're one up on me there, I have sat in a Discovery for a total of about 20 minutes in my entire life, and most of that was on the two test drives I did.
