I have been quoted £350.00 + VAT for a 75,000 service (apparently the transfer box oil needs replacing after this time otherwise it would have been cheaper)
No experiences of them but hopefully they don't "bungle" the service. Good knowledge on their part knowing the transfer case fluid needs done though. There is some debate on the fluid needed, Ive just bought some from local LR dealer to do mine.

I would be interested to hear your reviews on the service once completed. Like you I always use main dealer, Lookers Bishops Stortford, and thought I would try an indi next time.
Not a recommendation, as I have never used either of them, but there is Foley's in Roydon and AJD Land Rover in Hoddesdon.Discovery 4 HSE Santorini Black 2012

Cheers PaulD3
I know AJD but they seem more keyed up for the Defender type of motoring, more agricultural etc, adding bolt ons etc if you know what i mean.
Im going to have a look at G&G's tomorrow before i book it in, there website seems good and Zippy seems a nice bloke to talk too - so i will update as soon as i can.Mud Flaps - Slimer

Try 'Highline Autos Hertford'.
Have not used them but have mine booked in there on 19th Oct, will collect and drop off the car also, which is handy as I'm near St. Albans. They have a good reputation, and they are also listed on the Indie location map (do a search) on the forums.
Will report back on experience.

Well i went to G&G Automotive and all looks fine, i spoke to a guy called Zippy and he showed me around.
Its booked in for a 75,000 mile service as its 5 years old, I've been quoted £350 + VAT as it will need a transfer box oil change. Loads better that the 'Stealers' price.
The Disco's booked in for 6th November - so time will tell - fingers crossed.

Also a recommendation for 'Highline Autos' Hertford. Very reasonable, had some warranty work done and they dealt with Warranty Direct no problem.

Following Marks Adventure's recommendation of G&G Automotive in Ware, I decided to use them for my 4 year service today. I met the two owners who are extremely friendly and I was invited to look around their workshop which is well equipped, clean and tidy. G&G were hundreds of pounds cheaper than a main dealer, use genuine Land Rover parts and gave me back a nice clean car inside and out. G&G are definitely worth a visit even if you live outside the local area for the great service and prices they provide.Discovery 4 HSE Santorini Black 2012

Has anyone got any experiences on them please?
Thanks in advance

To me a service is an essential event that has to be done...neglect this at your peril
wherever you go it depends on the integrity of the guys actually doing the work
I have had some concerns with the main dealers (local to me) actually doing the scheduled service & wondering what work was actually done....not the oil changes but the routine checks - essential on a Disco.
The independents I now use in Leeds (Four x 4 ) are simply brilliant...attention to detail at a realistic price
before you commit to the work ask if they have a written schedule of whats got to be done....nit yes we have one its the same as a maine dealers - ask to see the written script.
if they haven't this available for you to ask questions this - walk away.....your vehicle reliability, safety, your investment all deepen on this work being done...not done or not done properly means you are at risk.
just a daft question.....if your Disco is an auto...when was the auto transmission oil changed? .... this could save you a small fortune at some later stageBREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.
