Help! - broken end of butterfly spindle while EGR blanking

Hi all,

Finally decided to blank my EGR's today. Was making good progress. Got to the point of removing the actuator to 'slide' the spindle out holding the butterfly disc thing in place,
But here is my problem. I've snapped the end off the spindle trying to lever it out so it's still fixed firmly in place!!

Now all I can see is a round end of a spindle going into the housing. Has anyone else done this and is there a fix to now get the spindle out?? I'm also assuming that if / when I get the spindle out, so long as I take the disc out and out the spindle back, does it matter too much that it's broken cos it's not going to be doing anything.

Any advice would be most most welcome!!!

Thanks,

Chris.

Just stick the actuator back on and it will be fine, its not used now when you blank it off, so it does not matter.

...... so can the disc just stay there and not cause a problem. Just wondering if it will kinda flap around Wink

The actuator shaft was stuck in the butterfly flap on my disco so I used a bit of heat from a small blow torch to gently heat the plastic flap along the area of the shaft where it runs through the plastic flap, and then it just slid out Thumbs Up
