Adaptive Headlight Upgrade

I'm currently upgrading my D3 GS to the Xenon adaptive headlights and have got the headlights, new headlight plugs, and the AFS ECU. I was about to start trawling the Interweb for a loom in order to get the connector for the AFS ECU module when I thought I would investigate to see if it was available anywhere. I stripped the circuit board out the AFS ECU and spotted the Tyco logo on the socket. Off to a good start I thought. So after spending a great deal of time examining drawings of connectors on the Tyco website - here it is. Part number 1717112-1 is the plug housing and the pins are 1674311-1 (tinned) or 1674311-2 (Gold). Ordered from www.mouser.com in Texas on Friday evening and arrived this morning.
Might be of limited use as most doing the upgrade will probably get a loom of eBay but thought I would share just in case. Thumbs Up

I completed the AFS upgrade recently. I used this housing for the AFS ECU
http://gr.rsdelivers.com/product/te-connec...21413.aspx together with the respective pins and it fits perfectly.

I made my own loom by ordering the cables from http://www.electricalcarservices.com/Cable...-457-1839, using the relevant LR drawings and following the advice from BBS Spy (thanks Colin Very Happy ).

The difficult bit was to get the loom thru the main harness grommet in the engine bulkhead (I finally routed it thru the outer side of the grommet and sealed it with silicon sealant).

I would suggest using this supplier for the pins to the headlight socket (although I used similar pins but it took me a lot of time and effort to fit them).

Hope the above of assistance.
