'07 TDV6: odd errors w/"transmission fault", A/C, |
|
I got the car back from a major repair the other day (new engine, new turbo, new torque converter, new injectors, etc.) only to notice after driving for 2 hours that the Air Conditioning didn't work, and I got the "Transmission Fault, Limited Gears Available" message in the dash.
I thought these were two separate, unrelated faults, until I also noticed that the two left hand side rear bulbs (LHD) didn't work, and I replaced these with two brand new Philips bulbs (21w/5w and 21w) and the new ones didn't light up either. (the other rear lights; brake, turn/hazard, reverse work ok).
So now I'm thinking maybe when putting the car back together, something went just a little bit wrong in the electronics department?
I am aware of the brake pedal switch, that this can cause problems, but I have driven the car for 1,5 hours with lightly and heavily tapping the brakes unable to get the error message back.
The workshop that did the work on my car are willing to take it back and search for causes, but they're in Poland and I'm in Norway... So the more I can try to find out myself the better.
Where would one start searching for errors in the electrics on a diesel 2007 LR3/Disco3?
I have a multimeter, there are no blown fuses (I think, but can double check).
One other thing they did, was replacing the earth cable to/from the battery with a longer (and same size or thicker) one, since I earlier this year bought a big AGM battery which was just a few mm to high for the original ground cable to reach it (so I had to make a quick fix).
Any help is highly appreciated.
In addition to a multimeter I have the IID Tool.
The car was connected to my reasonably powerful battery charger from Saturday morning to Sunday morning.
