Black smoke and loss of power 07D3

My D3 (2007) , which I have owned from new, recently started smoking ( black smoke under load/ acceleration) which got progressively worse over the space of two or three weeks (total mileage now 104367) lead me to think the EGR's had gone again ( both done between 50 and 70 k) or I now had a turbo problem.........had it diagnosed by Nene Overland as a lower intercooler hose splitting, changed it, runs as sweet as the day I bought her. Best car ever and could not bring myself to part with her, so now run a D4 too. From towing to regularly crossing Europe with four kids, theses cars are simply the best !!!

Like most things, if you look after it, it will look after you, I think most issues you read about are because of lack of proper maintenance.
