Blue smoke when accelerating

Hi All,
I know this has been discussed before so apologies for the new thread - my 2010 D4 started to produce blue smoke, typically when stepping on the gas pedal.
I read that there were 2 bulletins: LTB00358v2 and LTB00358v4.
My questions are:
- If this bulletins show that LR is aware that there is a technical problem with the car, who should pay for the repair? I called the dealer (Caffyns in Lewes) to ask about the issue, I said that I read it seemed to be a common problem and that I heard about the bulletins. The tech I spoke to over the phone said it would cost me just over £300.
-Has anyone gone through this repair and let me know if it was covered by LR (obviously my car is not under warranty anymore, and I do not have a LR extended cover)?
Thanks,

It's not a warranty issue if the car is out of warranty...

It is my understanding that repairs done during recalls, for example, are done at the expense of the manufacturer regardless of the car being under warranty or not. I thought it might have been the same scenario for repairs done following a Bulletin (as these recognise that there is a problem).

My question goes to people who have gone through this process, apparently you have not?

You are correct in your assumption about safety Recalls.

However, a service bulletin is there for assistance in diagnostics.

If you are out of warranty, you will have to pay for the repair, unless done as a goodwill gesture
