Selling my faultmate as it doesn't get used, was originally purchased to cover Discovery 3s and Defenders on trips to Morocco, can't see us doing another trip any time soon so it's up for grabs.
Also includes a small semi-rigid tool case I keep it all in, not designed for it but does the job and gives it some protection.
As they're multi vehicle licenses I don't believe there is any transfer fee involved, should just be a matter of notifying BBS of the transfer of ownership so the buyer can get access to their support forum - I will check.
If you don't want any of the licenses BBS will allow you to pay the difference and upgrade/change to alternative ones, click on the Software drop down on this page to see what's available.
Would come to over £2200 if bought new, asking £1650 including insured UK delivery. The End

Hi Slimer,
BBS will not allow an upgrade or licence transfer to another car for a multi-vehicle licence as they have no way to block it from being used. (I fell into this trap a few years ago ) Luckily I was able to resell the unit for what I paid before purchasing a new MSV-2 and MV licence for my Range Rover.
Single vehicle licences are fine as they will no longer work after a vehicle change or upgrade to another model. Your MV licence for the D3 will always function on your MSV-2 regardless of additions or changes.
I'm happy to be proved wrong if BBS have had a change or heart, policy or firmware improvements in which case my FFRR MV licence will soon be transferred for a D4 but sadly I do not believe that to be the case.

That is my understanding too. This MSV will work just fine on the 2 supported models but if you wanted a D4 licence then it's another £1.5k; opt for the FFRR (but not the latest version) it is another £3k or so.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
The way I understood it you could change for the cost of any difference in license price and an admin fee. When you apply the new license code it would override the old license so it was no longer valid, e.g. if you changed from D3 to D4 it would no longer work for D3s.
There is no transfer to another vehicle involved for a multi vehicle license as it's not locked to a single vehicle, just a transfer of ownership so the new owner can access the BBS support forums.
Anyway, I will check with BBS to find out exactly what is and isn't doable. The End

That would be great if they have changed their policy.
Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
Transfer of ownership: there is no need for a ownership form. The new owner will need to register the unit here with full details and we will take it from there: http://www.blackbox-solutions.com/support/..._form.html There are no costs for this as your licenses are Multi-Vehicle.
Change of licenses: If you wish to change the SM129 to SM134 for example, this is possible. The cost will be 50 Euros. If you opt for an exchange to SM134 then SM129 will be disabled.
So seems I was right: no cost to change ownership, it's possible to change licenses and the old one would be disabled (you could of course add additional licenses rather than changing if you wanted to keep the old one too)
Still available for sale, open to offers. The End

Simon, this is indeed very good news and an un publicised change of heart.
It also means that I may just hang onto my MSV-2 rather than "jumping ship" when my FFRR is sold and SWMBO's D3 is upgraded to a D4 8) 8) 8)

***UPDATE***
BBS have confirmed today that you CANNOT transfer a Multi-Vehicle licence from one model to another and the previous advice is incorrect.
This is as I originally thought and for me means my MSV-2 will soon be up for sale to be replaced by a BT IID tool

So basically as Simon stated then.......
Transfer of ownership not an issue........
Change of vehicle license, say from D3 to D4, then it costs for the new license......
Well that's how I read it

No it's not how Simon stated.
Yes you can transfer ownership without issue and yes you can change a single vehicle licence to another model for an admin fee if its just for another SV license. If you want to upgrade a SV licence to a multi-vechile license then I believe they take into account the SV cost towards the MV upgrade.
You can also buy new additonal licences at their retail price for any model either single vehicle or multi-vehicle and add it to the existing Faultmate.
BUT the issue is with Multi-Vehicle licences - these cannot be removed or deleted and as such an allowance (or part exchange if that helps) cannot be given.
This means that Simon's D3 MV licence will stay with his MSV-2 and my 2010+ FFRR MV licence will stay with mine. Both still have considerable value to anyone wishing to work on either of the respective models but are of no financial value (other than the hardware) for someone with a D4 or say RRS
I'm sure BBS will be along to clarify this far better than I have.

So it's basically a D3 multi vehicle MSV, and always will be?
Further licenses can be added, but at a cost?
Ownership needs transferring with BBS, but no cost?
Ajay
BBS seem to be confused themselves over the licensing, have asked if they have any plans to change their stance on MV licensesThe End

I hope BBS do change their policy on the MV licenses as they make no sense at all since they launched the BBS Nanocom, which is MV capable out of the box for a fraction of the MSV price.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
