Suspension problems & codes. :-(
Just had a fun filled long haul with suspension issues. First started ~ 100 miles into the trip then happened every 60/70 miles or so, just gave a bong then the orange wobbly car symbol. No change in ride, no drama. Just stopped where convenient & let the car sleep. Read the codes at a service station wee stop.
C112F-72 (AF) Frequent level activity in the down direction - Mechanical failure - actuator is stuck open
C1130-66 (AF) Frequent level activity in the up direction or unable to lift - Algorithm based failure - signal has too many transitions/events
Then things got more interesting. After about 300 miles from start Bong, SYSTEM FAULT SPECIAL PROGS NOT AVAILABLE, three orange light on the dash and SUSP LOWERING warning, which it did. Letting the car go to sleep & that sorted it then read faults. Got;
Suspension
C1130-66 (2E ) Frequent level activity in the up direction or unable to lift - Algorithm based failure - signal has too many transitions/events
Vehicle Dynamic
C1B00-61 (0B ) Steering angle sensor - Algorithm based failure - signal calculation failure
Final code reading had lost the up & down ones then only. Fault now happening every 30 miles or so and starting to peewee me off. Clearing the fault via the IID didn't work but letting the car go to sleep did.
Vehicle Dynamic
C1B00-61 (08 ) Steering angle sensor - Algorithm based failure - signal calculation failure
Luckily at my destination, don't need to worry about it for a while. I did have the brainwave that it might be a blown tailgate light but all 4 "lights" and 2 brake elements working fine. Then my ideas dried up.
Anyone had similar? I don't think I've seen the up & down suspension codes in a thread.
Any and all help will be gratefully appreciated.

Possibly a sticking valveblock valve, failing height sensor or you've developed an air leak. You can remove the fuse (26E) and leave it overnight to help locate an air leak.GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics

Just been doing some reading, hopefully it just needs the steering sensor recalibrated. Job for my limited IID skills or best left to the dealer?

In all seriousness, I would refrain from calibrating the steering angle sensor until you can be certain the air suspension is functioning correctly and there is no air leak present within the system. The steering angle DTC could be a symptom and not the cause.GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics

I was pretty heavily laden, still within limits but still pretty heavy. I wonder if that was a factor. Will be heading back empty, will be interesting to see if the faults still occur then.

Remove all the height sensor rods from the suspension arms, and check them for being tight/sticky as they move through their range of travel
Failing that, a leaky airbag or valve lock would be the next stepMy D3 Build Thread

If it's a sticky height sensor one way to check that (according to my searches) is through the 4x4 info screen. Unfortunately my car has a handy cubby hole there instead so I can't do that. However, is there an equivalent in IID BT live values that would let me identify if a sensor is playing up, say values way different from the others?
Certainly is; you should find "Current Height" and "Current Calibration" in the live values.
There are some screenshots of said values here: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic122907.htmlCurrent: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

I obviously have a bad leak somewhere. Put her into offroad height and the pressure gets up to 1740kPa but the compressor doesn't stop. Put her in normal height and same pressure achieved but the compressor does stop, then the pressure drops at ~1kPa per second. Left her in offroad height but with engine bay fuse 3 & leaving her overnight (or couple of days) to see if that reveals where the leak is.
Looked at live height values an RL is about 30mm higher that the other 3 corners, both in offroad and normal height. Plotting it on a graph for a short trip didn't do much except give me a headache. Don't you just love air suspension in an old car.
It would seem you have a corner valve stuck open plus a leak somewhere. What are the corner valve positions? Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC
