I think it's the exhaust isn't it? So shouldn't see high pressure.

You could always make a sleeve to insert between the two parts.
I'd probably look at doing that along with a bonding repair.
It'd give it extra strength .... something that was probably missing Thumbs Up

If I was super-gluing it or other bonding methods, I would also put a few zip ties around it to be sure

I used Tiger Bond in the end, 24 hours later I tested the join and I could pick the compressor up by the fitting. I'm sure its going to do the job, time will tell as the compressor was fitted today.

I still have some of this..

Loctite Black Tack....
This glue stays fund until you spray the hardener....then it sets
was used originally to fid large discrete compost to PCB's (printed Circuit Boards)....I have used this for all sorts or repairs.
The difference is it docent stick until you spray..you can position & hold in the exact place.
Massively strong & "proof"
....http://uk.farnell.com/loctite/4105/adhesive-blacktak-2-part-kit/dp/537172

I always trusted Araldite rapid & normal high strength...which is always in my car, office, homes....Black Tack has solved all sorts of adhesive tasks.
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.
