D3/4 fire
Was the black D3/4 Fire on M4 west near Reading yesterday anyone from here, I had heard about a car fire on radio in the morning, I past by at lunch time and car had been put out and a couple of guys waiting for it to be recovered. Looked like engine fire as all damage was at the front end.William

Just checked mine. Looked on the drive and it's not there!!! Then remembered I'd dropped it off at Guava this morning. Panic over.

Definitely not one from Australia (although there are plenty of members from other overseas countries too) as we can't afford the cost of shipping the car back to the mother country let alone the added cost of buying fuel over there). Aussie diesel is down to $1.31 a litre YIPPIE!!!

* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

Is there a specific reasons for D3/D4 to catch fire? Any preventive maintenance that can prevent hot surprises?
