Up on axle stands.

Hi. I want to get my D3 up on axle stands so that i can change oils and remove all four wheels.
At the risk of sounding like a dunce, could i ask for advice on the best and safest way to go about doing this?
I have a 3 tonne trolley jack and 4x three tonne axle stands. i have no problems with lifting a side at a time as i have done many times, but im a tad worried about putting the whole car up on stands.
Sorry if its a stupid question but i don't like the idea of holding up 2.6 tonnes on my chest.
Many thanks.

Jack up one end at a time. Front first, onto stands, then rear Thumbs Up

No problem with jacking up the cr in the middle, so both sides rise at the same time Censored

What's worrying me is, if I jack one end up and place it on stands, when I jack the other end up will this not put side pressure against the already in place axle stands and push them over Question

That's why the jack has wheels Thumbs Up

The front end should* not move once it is on stands, and as the car goes up, the jack creeps under the car to support it

*Safety first, never assume

It will be ok to lift the rear in one go provided the trolley jack can roll freely. With the front on axle stands, it's pretty stable. This is where the weight really helps. Don't use jacks or axle stands on tarmac though as they sink in. It has to be concrete for safety.

Ok! Thank you both. I was just worried about stability but feel happier now with second opinions.
Like they say " you don't know untill you try." Bow down Thumbs Up
