Very smoky FBH
It's that festive time of the year where I and any passing pedestrians are choked by the belching fumes from my FBH. It's much worse than it's been in previous years, to the point where several people have stopped to tell me the car is on fire
I am just wondering if there is anything I can do to service the FBH and hopefully reduce the smoke screen I leave behind during the winter?
Any suggestions? Cheers

I have come across the Webasto Thermo Top in other applications other than the auxiliary heater in the Discovery and have experienced splitting of the gasket between the fan and the combustion chamber causing very smoky heaters because it upsets the air/fuel balance.

The Webasto FBH is similar in operation to an oil fired central heating boiler. They need to be cleaned annually for clean operation. I stripped my FBH following the manual. It was a bit smoky but cleaning the combustion chamber made it smoke free.Freelander SE 2005 Auto.

Chaps - a 500ml of Millers states it does 10 x 50L tanks.
How much to you recommend I put into a full tank of Diesel in the D3? A bit more than 50ml?Discovery 3 HSE Auto (2007)

Have you never had a software update as they wrote that functionality out very early on (I assume yoiu're referring to the FBH light coming on) or do you have another LED or similar to signal that it's working? Bodsys Brake Bible
