Heated screens

Well 1st ice on the car and neither front or rear screens work, checked fuse in glove box and 2 under bonnet all ok, heater thingy under bonnet don't work neither but that's probably a reset thing I assume. Also tried to access the settings on the dash as per handbook ie press i button 4 less than 2 secs when clear while not moving blardy blah but nothing. Any advice on these issues would be great guy's, thanks.

Can't see why both screens would stop working, anyone else got any ideas ?

You need someone with software and diagnostic to reset FBH

Any current being drawn through the fuse?

That's what's throwing me, dash buttons light up, maybe both go through the same relay?

If you have a multimeter and read the mV across the fuse test points by the joy of Ohm's Law we can see what current is being drawn:

I'll give it a go but wouldn't the fuse need to be broken to get a measurement? Otherwise there would be no read as you're in series?

It would not work if fuse was blown as you are measuring a tiny potential difference across a resistor (as that is what a fuse is) of a known value. From the millivolts shown you can deduced the current flow. If you used a standard amp meter the power in the circuit would probably blow its internal fuse.

Only got a few minutes on the disco yesterday , both 30a fused dead, put ignition on but neither front or rear switches would work so had to start the engine. with engine running both switches lit and both fuses show 12v. I assume the fuses are between the element and the relays and if so this would indicate the relays are functioning ? Tried to get access to the elements to check for volts but cannot get at them.
I also assume there is a body control unit that controls the heated screens ?

Still no screens, a mate has an old diagnostic unit and it says rear screen is on (well its not heating up Sad ) and he couldn't find the front screen on the device.
I am hoping its a coincidence that both are kaput, could do with getting these running as with these and the FBH not working it a bit of a pain Crying or Very sad
