D4 transmission box in D3?

Good afternoon all,

a Mate of mine's 2008 D3 2.7 TDV6' transmission is on the coffee. He sourced a 2010 MY (built late 2009) transmission box.

It has '3L LION' printed on the side.

can the above me installed in the 2008 2.7 TDV6?

Sounds like it for the 3l engine, so based on that I would say no, not suitable.

But if it is the 6 speed box then in theory you could re flash it back, but I'm not sure if it stores any relavent ecu codes. Mark.

He changed the megatronic unit from the old box. Which is fine if that is ok. Mark.
