HDC fault

Hi everyone,

My D3 has developed an intermittent HDC fault it flashed up on the dash with HDC fault lowering suspension, special programs off etc.

It I turned it off and back on again select normal suspension and it was fine for about 5 miles then same again. Turn it off back on again and its the same thing any ideas? all brake light bulbs ore ok.

Cheers Narpy, I wonder if its the brake pedal switch? I've had no suspension work so not sure it would be the steering angle sensor?

It could be but tbh, there's a number of possible causes and worn or out of alignment steering and suspension components, is only one possible cause.

Best advice is to get the codes read and go from there. Thumbs Up

It could even be the battery as I seen a low power mode flash up on the radio on a cold start last week.

I have had this problem and it has been driving me nuts.
I have changed brake light switch , transfer case ecu and checked miles of wiring.

I have recalibrated the steering angle sensor because in tbe straight ahead position it was showing -5.
Fingers crossed its sorted now Thumbs Up

All the ideas above are valid but I would always start at the battery/alternator, especially when its just got a bit colder.
