D3 wouldn't start, suspect immobiliser, hopefully solved now
Just incase anyone else experiences the same problem, I went to start the D3 (2006 2.7 TDV6) this morning for the school run, hard frost overnight, doors unlocked, key in ignition and it wouldn't start, no warning lights. There was a clunk like the door locks were locking and unlocking again and the hazard lights were activated while the key was in the ignition switch.
First instinct was to check the battery, with a multi-meter everything was fine at the battery itself. Checked fuses all looked good.
Quick call to local LR dealers and they said the key fobs can go bad and not communicate with the immobiliser, book it in and they will take a look, this meant a call to the RAC to get the car down to the local dealership as I only had one key fob. £200 for an additional key fob, will need to get one ordered sooner rather than later.
While I was waiting on the RAC I read online that wiring for the security system goes through the climate control in the centre console, with the plugs disconnected the car won't start. I did recently replace the radio, so maybe I knocked something, as soon as I removed the centre console surround, key was in the ignition at the time, everything came back to life and car started.
Gave all the connections on the back of the climate control a good push to make sure they were home and replaced the surround. Starts every time, I just hope it is that simple and isn't related to the hard frost overnight causing other issues, tomorrow morning will tell.

It should be ok now. The hazards flashing was the car telling you it had a CANBUS problem, hence the refusal to start. Reseating the CANBUS connections on the HEVAC panel looks to fixed the problem.
Edit: Just noticed that you replaced the head unit - what did you do with the CANBUS wiring?

Thank you
Thank you Robbie.
I am glad I found that nugget of information before it got towed away to the local LR dealership.
Edit: I had recently replaced the radio head unit as the No.6 button was missing, still have the old unit in the garage if any use to anyone. While I did that I had all of the units unscrewed to take a look at what was behind there and how it all pieced together. This was a couple of weeks ago and it worked fine after doing the initial work, although one of the cables must have just been on the verge of losing contact.
And I just realised I put this in the Technical D4 section instead of D3.
