FBH On Fire?
I went out to my Car this morning and sat with it running for a while.
It was about 1 degree so I had the bonnet lifted in anticipation for the FBH to fire up.
It started no problem, and the normal plume of smoke was coming from the exhaust under the wheel arch...
I then decided to plug in the IID Tool and clear the faults that seem to accumulate. Once I'd done that, I decided to use the tool to enable the mirrors dipping whe reverse function... I know I can do it on the car, but since I had the tool plugged in, I thought 'why not?'
I got to the point where it tells you to switch off the engine and return the egnition to 'on' ... So I did that!
It was then I notice thick smoke coming from the top of the FBH, the black plastic cylinder...
Once it had stopped, I saw that I had an 'F' on my info screen. I started the car and cleared the faults again... Now all seems fine!
Any idea to what this plume of smoke might of been? It wasn't black like I'd expect fire smoke to be, but t has me worried!

Really hard to judge from a single photo. It could be a damaged exhaust, something melting onto the exhaust, coolant coming into contact with the exhaust, diesel leak or a split FBH case.
You are going to have to give it and the surrounding area a detailed inspection. If all looks ok you will need to give it some test runs with you standing over it. If that is not possible right now then pull the fuse so it does not run.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

I've done as Robbie says and I've pulled the fuse for now.
I'll try to get a look at it later on. 07 Land Rover Discovery III HSE
