5 values sounds ok to me:

steady state,+, -, set and resume.

5v system.

Was thinking it fires 5 volts out and with no buttons pressed it gets 5 volts back. If bad connection it or wire it would not get 5 volts back and think a button is pressed. I was measuring resistance round circuit from Ecu so would expect very little resistance then 4 real readings.( 23.37 no buttons, then 5.3k, 1046, 9.6k, 441 ohms) Don't know if 23ohms is enough to effect the no button pressed voltage. Will measure voltages tonight. Rolling Eyes

Resistive ladders can have a resistor in series for the steady state position, some are open on steady state. Not sure how the D3 does it.

Don't forget the wider systems; any ABS fault will stop the CC, as can an accelerator pedal track or a bus problem to the instrument cluster.

Thumbs Up

4.2 volts at connection to cruise switches, measured using return wire and good known earth. Now have fault code p0237- turbo or supercharger fault, but if read further it said this description is not valid for this variant, fault for this variant is speed control resume signal, button stuck down or voltage out of range. Get this with both sets of buttons, either both faulty or voltage to low.Plug switches in, voltage drops to 3.9. Stripped a switch pack and just fitted the circuit board, still the same readings.

Anybody able to measure resistance between pins 9 and 10 on a D3 cruise control switch with no buttons pressed? This will let me know if my switches are faulty. Whistle
Thanks Bow down

I may be a recent D3 owner and so not exactly up on all its systems.
I couldn't help but notice that you mention the IID tool. Do you have one? Can you control that with the CC buttons? This would prove that the switches are connected. My CC isn't working either but I can use the IID no problem. My D3 is showing multiple bus faults at the moment.

Don't iid tool at the moment on list of things needed. Have borrowed a friends ssd or sdd whatever its called. He runs range rovers and not turned one into a large paper weight yet. There is a section where you can press the cruise buttons and it tells you what you have pressed, said cruise resume button pressed all the time on both sets of switches I have.

Need to know if need full 5 volts before switch and resistance between pins 10 and 9 on cruise switch.

Did you ever get this fixed? I've replaced the switch pack, loom, brake light switch and clock spring in mine all to no avail!
