In theory, they should take longer to die as they aren't having their near vicinity pumped full of sooty, fuel laden smoke? -------------------------------------------------------------------

Well I went for it and blanked them. No fault lights as of yet. Drive is much improved and dead spots at certain speeds have gone. Feels much more responsive so very happy. See how long my joy lasts 😊
