On holiday and Tailgate Stuck!

As per title, tailgate will not open. I can hear the actuator going when I squeeze handle so assume the dreaded cable has snapped....... pain in the buttocks!

Any way of a fix whilst i'm away?

Theres no instant fix sadly if the cable has snapped but it's easy enough to do a repair/mod on once you've gotten to it. You will need some tools sadly..........and small girlie hands would be an advantage too. Whistle

You really don't need a dealer, it is a releatiivley short and simple job and plenty of info on it. Try sticking a help in norfolk post, someone may be able to help. Some have fixed using an Ikea allen key or a temporary fix would be to tie a bit of string to it. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Well with a hell of a lot of fiddling, and cut arms I managed to get in there and open it. As expected the T part of the cable had broken. Don't have enough with me to fix it btu have cable tied to the cable so at least I can easily open even if from the inside..... oh, and I think i've broken the rear cover Evil or Very Mad so need a new one of them if anyone has one........ 2007 XS
