I don't really know about Reddex specifically but do try mineral two-stroke oil some time. JASO FC is best but FB should do unless you have a DPF. Castrol Actevo 2T (FC spec) is often recommended. If you do a search you will find loads of info about adding two stroke. I've been doing it for about three years and not noticed anything dramatic but its whats going on inside that counts.
I don't think you'll have a dpf as I believe they are only on the d4, may be wrong though

Waaaaay back ReDeX was an upper cylinder lubricant for petrol engines...it was meant to lubricate what the engine oil couldn't...valve guides, piston rings. the mechanical parts of the induction system...& remove gummy deposits & carbon. It worked & worked well. It was bought at petrol fill ups & dosed in one squirt per gallon.
You could buy it in bulk & the trick was to pour an amount into the carburettor with air filter off - fast idle...what resulted was huge cloud of blue smoke & debris out of the exhaust. For a while you car felt supercharged.
You could also with a warm engine remove spark plugs & with an oil can squirt an amount into each cylinder...wind the engine over by hand. Then turn over with starter motor - bits of rag over the spark plug holes...this was meant to free up cylinder rings..& it did just that.
Move time on a few decades ReDex is now a fuel system cleaner for Petrol & Diesel engines.....its upper cylinder lubricant capabilities unknown.
The basic stuff is meant to clean the fuel system parts (now injectors)...remove gum, maybe carbon...
The more costly more sophisticated stuff is also a cetane booster...& a cleaner
I occasionally use either one...the more costly does work & work well....but is almost the same as Millers fuel additives which cost less & seem to act for longer.....
My late Dad (God bless him) lectured me that ReDeX will never hurt an engine...& I trust that data to this day.
There others (STP, Wynns, Comma, Nulon & Millers) but blindly I still trust ReDeX..it has done all sorts of good things to cars I have owned that weren't the best & had done lots & lots of miles...BREXIT - done properly.

Sounds like good stuff to me.
Thanks for the info, think I might go back to asda and get a few more for my trip to France.
I think some later (08.5MY on?) D3s can have DPFs but with an 06MY I'm pretty sure you wont have one.
Mineral FC spec is fairly hard to come by except for Actevo.
200:1 is supposed to be best so ~400ml per full tank (It's fine to add it after you've filled up). You don't have to be too precise with it, it will be fine with a bit more or less. You may want to add a bit more the first few times. If I have a full tank I just stick 500ml in - half the bottle.Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Ouch. Then again we were spoiled buying the stuff for less than £2 a bottle. I'm down to my last 24 bottles.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Diesel particulate filter - an additional filter on the exhaust that is periodically heated to burn-off collected particles. Adding a high-ash oil would only add to the work it has to do.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
