Help - Which Push In Air Line Nylon Hose Connectors - Comp?

HELP ! So I replaced the dryer on my air compressor today, its pretty simple apart from the black intake and release air lines, one of which I had to cut and on the other one the connector broke.

thanks to all for the great thread

This has happened to so many people now (despite liberal amounts of WD40 days in advance) I would recommend also buying these connectors before you start. I understand these are available on ebay for peanuts but could somebody please guide me to the right ones to buy for the 8 & 10 MM hoses please ? I understand its probably something like this ??????

Timely - I'm about to do mine tomorrow but have no connectors to hand in case of breakage!

Yes, I understand you need one 8mm and another 10mm. Thumbs Up

Do you know what size bolts I need to replace the corroded ones that attach the compressor bracket to the chassis and the compressor cover to the chassis?

I have new captive nuts but, looking at the bolts, they have seen better days.

Its pretty impossible to get the hose over a 10 mm & 8 mm straight connectors as the rubber is very solid even if you heat it, so I have ordered reducers ie 10 to 8 mm and 8 mm to 6 mm

Unless I am missing something ??

So isnt a straight reducing connector like this more appropriate ? How does the other side of the push in connector,

connect with the compressor socket ?

Post a picture of the damaged connector to save any confusion, the inline push fit connectors are used to join pipework that has been cut or extended.

I cut the 10mm line right at the very end before the connector so its just a tad shorter and the 8mm line is normal length but both pipe connectors broke when I removed them.

Hence why I am thinking that I simply push a connector like the blue one directly into the compressor (instead of the pipe) and connect the pipe to the other end

You will not manage to use the barb type connector (like the blue one) with the air pipe used in for the air suspension. Don't even try to. At more than 200psi of pressure you're risking something.

The air hoses used in the D3 EAS system are designed for push-in fittings ONLY. The hose is pushed INTO the fitting, not over it.

The barb type connectors (such as the blue one) require hoses to be pushed OVER them, and then secured with hose clips (jubilee clips). But they are totally different hoses. You will definitely not manage to stuff a barb connector into the compressor.

It is still not clear to me what your situation is, maybe take a few photos with your phone and show everyone, in the hope of better understanding your situation and being able to offer some more help.

Ok looks like this now, I thought the open push in connectors were crap, so would prefer not to use these if possible

So the collet broke on both connectors?

Post some pictures of the damaged parts.
