Disco 3 tow rope, best place to attach! !

With a removable tow bar, where is the best location to attach a tow rope? Is there any place you can put a shackle?

TBH I haven't even had the cover off yet, I did tug at it and it was quite stiff so I gave up before I broke it! I was just expecting a slot for the tow bar attachment!

Don't tug it, there are 2 1/4 turn plastic lugs in the bottom corners. A large coin is the best thing to undo them.

Look under it, there are 2 lugs. Use either a coin or a flat head screwdriver and turn them 90degs.
It will then pop off, you may need to gently pull it down a touch then bring towards you to remove it.

That recovery hook is extremely strong.

There is a similar one at the front under the bumper trim. It is held on by 8 lugs that are the same as the rear cover.

Many of us by sump guards and fit them as they protect the front lower bumper but also have a built in hole to attach a rope or winch cable to the front hook if needed. Thumbs Up

That is your non-standard back-end.

Yes it is, so far some tugging isn't working. I think I may brave a screwdriver tomorrow! !!

Well, it turns out that underneath that plastic trim is the standard cover for the great big towing eye! What a great idea!
