Scratch on dash

Hi there, this is my first post on disco 3 so I hope your all well and no doubt you will hear more from me in the next few years to come!

I recently bought a 57 plate disco and I am very happy with it, has 107k on the clock and is going for its timing belt service next week. Have only had two other teething problems...so far... the bonnet catch sensor came loose and then the drivers door latch quit working, both of which have now been solved with help from this forum!

So moving on, the car is very tidy inside except two areas, one of which is this scratch on the dash

Almost looks like someone has put a plank of wood through the car at some point and this happened, is there any tips out there for getting rid of this or at least making not as noticeable? Not holding out much hope but thought it was worth a try!

Only other thing I was wondering about is do grabber tyres become noisy at around 55mph? Seems to be alot of extra road noise around this speed and up....maybe its a typical discovery thing? I have them inflated to the psi stated on the drivers door.

Many thanks,

Chris

I would guess there will be an interior trim repairer nearby, my D3 door cards were ripped to bits by the seatbelt buckles and the repair was next to invisible.
When some scrote ripped a cd player out of a previous car they shoved a screwdriver through the dash, trim repair made it good as new.
I started off with nothing and Ive still got most of it left.

Don't know about the dash scenario

But I've got GG at on 18" and wouldn't say they were noisy at any speed
Well maybe a bit over 90 Whistle but not bad
Maybe just me as I'm used to them
Iirc about 40-42 psi all round

Thumbs Up

Welcome farmer n a m

yes the GG AT do get noisy at 50ish up until 65 -70 when either they quieten down or they are drown out by wind noise etc, not sure which

Andi.

Oh just read Alan b's post, will inflate to 60 psi - see what happens Shocked maybe a bigger explosion than DSL's upcoming one Thumbs Up

Think it was around the £50 mark for the door card, the dash was through the insurance along with a window, door respray, cd player and some bits n pieces that were taken.
I started off with nothing and Ive still got most of it left.

Not sure where you are but here in Devon, I use a place called Garnish (used to be plastic surgeon) that would take care of that dash board, would expect to pay no more than £150 inc VAT.

Hey, the place is called Garnish, it's in Marsh Barton Exeter.

For the benefit of the mods, I have absolutely no affiliation with them, just a happy customer.

GG A/T's definitely get more noisy at about 55 mph to 60 mph. Quieter either side of that range in my experience. Tested this by temporarily fitting my spare rims shod with Continentals and absolutely no noise with them.
