Short stay parking Gatwick North

Hi all,

Was at Gatwick North the other day not in the D3 and noticed they've changed the rubber bars on the height level to a nasty swinging metal one which I don't fancy brushing the D3 under.

I've got to go back there in a few weeks to pick up some people flying in for my sisters wedding and thought it's ok I'll park in the overheight car park. But they've gone and closed it as part of the redevelopments and are now saying you have to go and park in the long stay car parks instead. Which I understand are miles away and much more expensive than the short stay ones.

Anyone know if it's better to park in the overheight short stay at Gatwick South and get the tram thing instead?

I picked the wife up in the D3 from the express pick up on Sunday at Gatwick N. Cost £3.

It's on the first floor of the multistorey. Last entrance. D3 went under the barriers and round the car park fine locked in access mode.

Annoyed I had to pay £3 for 5 mins parking. Dearer than Luton airport.

Next time I will pick her up at the drop off for free. Started doing this at Glasgow airport. VR6 > 330D Touring > D3 HSE > !?XC90?!

I was there last week, I had roof bars on and at normal height, but you need the second entrance not the first. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

You're most welcome.

Other than risking a telling off for using the drop off I doubt there's a cheaper alternative and you're not allowed to leave your vehicle unattended at the express pick up.

I parked in Gatwick North short stay last week. Just make sure you head for car park 6 (not 5 which is the first you see). Car Park 6 has a height restriction of 2.1 meters - more than enough for most disco's, unless you've got a roof box or bike!

Parked in Car Park 6 last time and it was all fine, however a friend who went there last Monday said it was closed and I need to pick up from North on Saturday.

Anyone been there in the past 7 days in the Disco?
