Great success
Tuesday morning the Disco had no power at all under 2000 rpms pulling out on the road when driving the boys to preschool. It scared me a bit as there was a car closing up behind us after turning out on the road.
At work I consulted this forum and confirmed my suspicions, most likely EGR failure. I already had a blanking kit at home that I never came around installing. So Wednesday I took half the day off and installed the blanking kit and removed the butterfly valve. I must say some of the screws are quite hard to get to, especially the lower left on the butterfly actuator. But all when't well and on the first test drive all power and more was back. I kept saying "Great success" in a Borat dialect to my self
But wait... Thursday morning I notice that the stereo is dead as a door nail. Back to this forum. Seams a hard reset should do the trick. So after dinner and checking fuse 53 I followed the procedure in the wiki here and again "Great success!"
I wonder what's next... Maybe I should get me a silicone inter cooler hose just to be on the safe side
