Set your mind at rest.

After 45 years of driving only with manual gear boxes Including my first D3, I switched to the auto box version two models ago and quite frankly, I would never switch back.

The ease and simplicity of the auto box and its range of abilities over the manual version is a joy to experience.

I'm sure that you won't regret it if you change.

Would I ever miss a 6-speed box that requires your leg and arm to operate - er no, not ever.

8-speed auto is the way ahead.

I've just gone from a manual Defender to an auto D3. Going from a manual Discovery to an auto one will be a breeze Rolling with laughter

Grunders - that kind of transition issues i am talking about as worst battle is always with ones habbits

I know autos are boring easy to drive but i was not asking about driving technique but approach to transition into auto and daily life with it

All joking, but you all obviously forgot about the first time in an automatic and you tried to de-clutch.. Shocked Yes.. sqeeling tyres all-round...
..hmm shows my age a bit, pre-ABS era... Sad Sad

This happens to almost everyone new to an automatic gearbox.. Razz .. Mr. Green

I actually prefer a manual. With the disco & smart , I love to change down and break on the engine [although both are automatic] , and accelerate out of corners.
It feels like the car is more stable and corners better.... ...but I just like the sqeeling of the revs as well.. Razz Razz

been driving since I was 17 years,always a manual.
so at 60 plus years was very apprehensive about conversion to auto .
what if I spent all that money and didn't like it.
LOVE IT,
go get yourself a test drive or off road day
