My MXS10 has given up the ghost and I suspect just outside the warranty period..
I use it all the time to keep the D4 ready to go but after not using it at Christmas when we were doing long trips I plugged it in and left it charging. Came back to a dead CTEK.
Fuse is ok and power is making its way down the lead and as yet I have not taken it apart in case CTEK were going to be helpful in looking into the problem. I have emailed them but no helpful response yet. I have tried once more before sharing their replies.
Question: Is there some sort of reset procedure one can do? There is that red button, or maybe that is a tamper protection on the bottom?
Has anyone taken one apart and found likely causes such as internal fuses etc?
In the meantime I have had to buy a replacement but live in hope that CTEK will come to the rescue may the odds be ever in your favor

CTEK are usually quite helpful, so hopefully they will replace it, I believe the MXS10 has a 2 year warranty. My CTEK 5 model went pop after 2 and a bit years but Amazon still refunded me and then I purchased the MXS10 in one of their lightening deals.

my message
Good afternoon My CTEK MS10 has stopped working no lights at all half way through charging a battery. I have changed the fuse and checked that there is power going into the CTEK. Is there something else that I should check? and if not who can i send to to to get it looked at please.
not the helpful response received below from CTEK that I was hoping for but I haven't given up quite yet assuming I can actually find out what their complaint policy is?
Hi
If your charger is not working properly, you should complain about it, see our complaint policy. Unfortunately without a valid receipt we are unable to assist under the terms of our warranty.

Yes I think mine is older and in any case I don't keep the receipts.
I have tried to make contact again but if there is no joy the next step will be to pull it apart and see what is inside.
I am afraid that I cannot find my receipt but The warranty says
This warranty is void if the unit is abused, handled carelessly or repaired by anyone other than CTEK SWEDEN AB or its authorized representative.
Can I ask if you can direct me to an authorised representative to repair my unit for me please

If you bought it online and you can remember who from you might be able to log in and reprint the receipt.

I have had a much more helpful response from the USA CTEK offices who I hope will try and make it clear to the Europeans that all I am asking for is assistance and not a freebie. After all I have just ordered and paid for a replacement from another supplier in any case. (more on how helpful they were later)
It cannot be the case that £100+ kit is disposable after a few years without wanting to find out why is has failed. So lets see if the MD of the US side gets a reply for me.

I wonder how I would stand in this situation then,
My Mxs 10 was bought in a group buy run by rockcrawler,
So would I take it up with him if anything went wrong with it?
Just a hypothetical question

afraid not, all I was saying was that if you can remember if you bought it online and who from you can always log into the account for that shop, have a look at your past purchases, hopefully find the correct one and then print the receipt. Worked for me but I did have to have a look at two online shopping accounts before I found the correct one

Even if you bought it in a group buy there must be a receipt somewhere all group buys I've been part of have always arrived with one.

Well Hey how helpful are the CTEK people.
See my answer below in your mail
Is there a reset procedure that i should try No.
Is there some sort of fuse or cut out in the unit that i should look at. No
Is it possible to get the unit inspected or repaired by you. Yes, you can have the equipment inspected and repaired the standard charge is 75€, however if the charger is beyond economic repair it will be disposed of. We are unable to return chargers found to be not repairable unless specifically requested and in this case you will be responsible for the cost of return postage.
so its pretty much the same price as a new one to get them to look at it. We live in a disposable age i'm afraid. What surprises me is that they are not even interested in why the unit has failed. may the odds be ever in your favor
