If you have a D3, and can connect wires up, this is an easier way

Thank you Alex & tobouk for your effort and contribution developing the solution. I just installed a remote for the FBH, tobouk variant, and it is working like a charm!

Managed to squeeze all the smd parts on a single PCB. Think I’ll use LM7805 to save space on the PCB on the ignition and lowbeam input. Also tested it on the car and starts the FBH. Now on the easy part, where did you find Ignition On and Lowbeam in the engine compartment?

As the circuit will remain permanently live, a low quiescent current regulator is a must. LM2936 is one of them. The LM7805 is not.

Decided I would whip up a quick board in Eagle to create my own FBH controller. It's nothing special but for £4 for 3 boards from OSHPark I'll give them a go.

Used the wrong footprint for the Tant Capacitor. Had to use a through hole instead. Just need to get it programmed, just need a programmer first.

Will revise the board later.

Controller all flashed using MPLAB IPE v3.10 and PICkit3.
Select Family, Device and Apply.
Plug in the PICkit and Connect.
Upload .hex file.
Erase to clear the PIC and then program.

I'd happily pay one of you to build one of these for me - spend enough time slaving over a hot iron in the day job (broadcast engineer) but would save me an hour of faffing with a WBus to serial board & an Arduino myself

js671gb, I'd be happy to put one of these boards together for you.

Been reworking the controller to make it easier for some testing. Been looking through all the documentation and code, will be trying to add the ability to clear faults and locking of the FBH
