Hi Tobouk
I am fully kitted with a pickit 3 now, however I cannot find the pinout configuration to program the chip, can you help pls?
I am also assuming that the VSS is the ground on your design.
Could you explain reason for the jumper time selection, is this something that needs to be switched on or switched off or can I just bypassed it please.
Thanks

Hi Tobouk
Evening!
I'm designing a PCB which i can solder the PIC on it, and them program it direct by connecting to PicKit3 by 5xPin Strip.
Is possible for you to share how to connect the Pic to PIcKit3 pls:
PicKit 1 - to PIC pin 4
PicKit 2 - to PIC pin 1
PicKit 3 - to PIC pin 20
PicKit 4 - to PIC pin ?
PicKit 5 - to PIC pin ?
PicKit 6 - to PIC pin ? (is this needed?)
Also is there a need of any supporting component like capacitors etc pls?
thanks

PicKit 1 - to PIC pin 4
PicKit 2 - to PIC pin 1
PicKit 3 - to PIC pin 20
PicKit 4 - to PIC pin 19
PicKit 5 - to PIC pin 18
PicKit 6 - to PIC pin 3
give it its own +5 on 1 & 0v on 20, pickit3 doesn't supply 5v
remember to unselect "configuration bits set in code", under configure, configuration bits
and set them as per .c file
looks like your ready to rock Best ever LR110

when programmed and on built board,.....
comes on for 10 secs when first connected to 12v then goes off (board reset), then,
when trigged with 12v signal (low beam), and 0v on(ignition), if not connected to fbh, on 12 sec then off, when connected and communicating with fbh, on and stays on until fbh shuts down.
use say 3 secs for turn on, 8 secs for the off.
if you do the above with ignition high, comes on (blip) then goes back to sleep.
I am presuming we are now talking of your board fully built not just in programming mode Best ever LR110

@tobouk thanks. Now it is working. I have used pickit3, pickit3 software and tobouk's hex file. I have set config bits in pickit3 software, and changed device to midrange 1.8v. In the evening i am going to post jpeg witch show how to set bits in pickit 3 software. But i have got other problems. My webasto is outside the car, it works as portable garage heater. The controller turn it on for about 10 sek, and then it turn off. I try also @alex controller, but it does exacly the same. I have tried optoizolation, different power source. Nothing work, it is turn off idealy in the same time. With webasto thermo test software and cheapo k-line adapter it is working ok. I have also tried @alex controler with max232 and my cheapo rs232 - kline cable, turn on for 10 sek and off. I dont know where is mistake.

A bit of an update
I have decided to build my own PCB to host all components - thats what I thought!
Building a small circuit single layer with a 20 pin microchip is impossible, than moving to a dual-layer, made the whole design complex - attempt 1 failed!
So now i have used the SSOP20 to DIP20 adapter to host the microchip, and using that as starting point, i created a single side board that can take all components + the adapter with 20x pins, it looks like an DIP20 IC a bit larger.
I wanted to have a pins to program the microchip directly with the PicKit3, but that just added complexity, so i program the pic directly on the adapter then solder it to the mother board.
I have designed the PCB to fit on a Hammond Plastic box:
http://docs-europe.electrocomponents.com/w...61abe3.pdf
I hope i can create the PCB tomorrow, program the PIC and test it, once i have tested I'll share the design.
I have made an alteration to the original circuit design, instead of zener diodes i'm using LM7805, as i had few of those around.
Also i'm supplying 5Vdc to the PIC and not 12Vdc as in the original circuit, i hope thats ok.

Hi. You can program it using 5volt, but k-line receiver/transmitter doesn't work. It needs 12 v to work.

Ahh interesting.
Do i need to add a zener diode/LM7812 or is it ok to connect directly to the cars battery, as it fluctuates between 12vdc - 14vdc?
thanks I'm riding a R1250GSA Triple Back
