M10 seat rail screws - are they special?
I'm wanting to put in a Ram-Mount RAM-B-316-1-202U onto my passenger seat base. I've removed the screw which appears to be an M10 torx T50-headed screw that's 30mm long.
It's too short to screw in the mount base so I'm looking for a replacement.
The screw is interesting as it's not threaded all the way to the end - and I have tried a longer M10 (60mm, far too long) and there is definitely a narrowing in the hole.
I would assume I can use a 40/45mm M10? Thanks for any tips!

If you take one from the middle don't forget to replace it with something, the hole is through to the outside. I've replaced my original bolts with high tensile hex bolts as I take my seats out every spring, the original torx heads just strip.

I wasn't suggesting leaving a seat bolt missing Just borrowing it for a quick trial fit in the front before ordering another 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

maybe I can do a swap. If it's dangerous, I'll do it for the seat the mother-in-law uses

They are a standard M10x1.5 thread apparently, so high-tensile (10.9) 'normal' bolts would be fine too.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Sorry no link, got them from a fastening place in Inverness. M10 40mm long I think, though M number may be wrong. I also use copperslip on them as they can be a but difficult to get out.

so I'm currently there with a swap from 2nd row to front an vice versa. The Ram-Mount is in place and the hole is plugged......
I think as this is a one-off that I'll get a pukker replacement......
