Not too bad a price for them, though wouldn't want to pay any more. Thumbs Up

Lots of 17's been up over the last month, missed one set at 1p Big Cry , there was also a seller in ill ford London selling a set of 17's with continentals on about 7-8 mm for £120 the other week, sure these ones though have been up before.

Cheers guys, not sure whether to get 17's or stop being so tight and pick up another set of larger wheels.

Figured if it was for winter 17's would be better anyway.....even though they look horrific on the car Confused

I quite like the 17s on the car but don't have them any more. Big Cry

Sorry to sound controversial but I'd be looking for something a little bigger than 17s on such a big car. From no other point of view than looks, especially when you are currently on 20s. I've just bought some winter alloys and tyres and thought hard before I opted for 19s as I thought the 18s just a bit too small for such big arches. Twisted Evil

You would't get 17's on a D4 anyway, the brakes are too big. 18's will just about fit D4.

19 and 20 look great but have thinner and shallower sidewalls, which is not so good for any off road activity.

Looking at YT's previous cars, I don't think offroad was a consideration Wink
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Presumably if you are looking at a second set of wheels it is because you want a set of tyres for a particular function? If that is the case, then be led by the preferred tyre of choice rather than what is available at that time on fleabay, ie put function before form.

First thing I did when I bought the D3 was to buy a set of 17" wheels (from fleabay - £60 for 5) as they are the only ones which will take my preferred BFG AT tyres (245/70 by 17 fit without modifications). I get about 50k out of a set (on and off road), and whilst they may cause a bit of extra roll when heavily loaded, for a working vehicle they knock the spots of everything else I have tried.

When buying second hand you are usually paying for the rims and will end up scrapping the tyres so don't pay too much....

PS If you are concerned about looks then try and get a set of 5, even if youi keep the spare on the original rubber, as nothing looks more naff than mismatched wheels!!

You're dead right but I didn't see offroad mentioned by the thread-starter, only the issue of winter. Wink
