Now standard on UK spec HSE cars, there was talk about an extra ecu for the adaptives.
They certainly dont work on a 'standard' car, I have tried Zermatt silver 06 reg.
They're great to have around town. Our streets are poorly lit. I originally thought that they'd be just a gimmick, but they really do enhance vision at night.Have a nice day!

i ordered my HSE with adaptives but got delivered without
i chased the dealer and LR Aus and they cannot be fitted ex-factory because it requires an ecu for the adaptives ...
so i got the bar and LR spotties as a "keep the customer happy" option.
honestly, i'd still prefer the adaptives ... 2009 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE

(what options?!)

why didnt they just get an ecu and plug er in or is there something else (I suspect it was too much trouble more like it).
I'd go back to the dealer and show 'em the cold steel; and then stick it up 'em. They do not like it up 'em! They do not like the cold steel up 'em.Have a nice day!

Theres a diffrent wireing loom for the adaptives over the standard lights, theres an extra 8 pins on the plugs on the light units.
Not sure if they can be retro fitted it would be a very big job if it can be done.
I would stick with the standard xenons

no bigger than some of the stuff done by some of the guys here and from what I'm told well worth it. well I'd be pretty sure if you damaged something you could get a spare part for it just wether its economically viable to retrofit and I'd geuss you would need some assistance from a friendly dealer. you've thrown down a challenge and when I get mine I'm going to make it my lifes work to make it happen

Have adaptives on my HSE, can't say if they are any good as I have not been out in he dark with it (delivered end April). Did notice the beams doing a merry dance on a petrol station wall when starting up & auto lights deciding to kick in. I was not flashing at the cashier, honest!
PS do feel sorry for U catweasel, took 2 weeks from order to delivery, car was manufactured 3 days before ordering. Extras on the dealer stock spec that I did not want (privacy glass & plastic wood endcaps) were thrown in.
