Xenon Bulbs

I am looking to replace the bulbs in my headlights they seem to be on their last legs and are not putting out as much light as I would like. I have looked in the manual and I think they take a DS2 55w which is used for low beam and an H7 55W. Does anyone know where I can get a whole set of bulbs? I would like everything to have the same colour temp etc.

D3 use D2S, forget xenon go LED, 1/4 of the cost, last longer, use less power and give three time the light of old xenon bulbs plenty on Eblag or Amozone and take 15 minutes to fit. Colour is usually 6000k and are full and dipped beam same as xenon’s and give exactly the same beam pattern.
You can buy H7 for the spots in 6000k to match which is a slightly whiter colour than standard bulbs.
You will be amazed at the improvement. Thumbs Up [/i]

Wow. Amazed your giving that opinion.

Personally I would just change the xenon’s to osram xenon’s.

And leave H7 alone. You would only be able to make a small colour change to them anyway.
And halogen much better for long range output

My preference would be the following:

D2S:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323644871630?epid=28027945148

H7:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254881731920?ha...SwagpgOX93

Not sponsored by Osram or anything, they just seem to work well in my experience Very Happy

Yes I agree, halogen For the spots they seem to be better and are available in 6000k colour temp, although having a D4 I don’t have the pleasure of spots so can’t comment Big Cry

On the contrary, I've tried several LED kits in other cars, just not on the D3!

I do agree that the light output is remarkable, particularly in projector-type housings (as we have on the main beams). Only downside I've found is the absolutely massive variance in light output between brands - some of the cheaper Chinese ones are nowhere near as good, and the price differential between brand-name LEDs and xenons is minimal. I imagine that with the right set of LEDs in the xenon position they would be extremely good, but would suspect that getting a decent beam pattern in the H7 halogen spotlights might be a challenge.

By the letter of the law I think not, but no-one will notice in a projector housing. In a standard reflector housing they will, but only if it's a main beam, so not relevant to us.

Apologies for double posting, couldn't edit the one above for some reason.

Yes they are ok for the MOT, the beam pattern with mine is exactly the same, maybe slightly better on dip as the cut off is very clean and that is all the mot tester is interested in. Most new cars are now fitted with them.
I purchased the cheapest I could find, purely to try them out and I can only describe them as excellent.

My tester did. He passed it and told me to swap them to standard for next years MOT otherwise he would have to fail it. I didn't even know they were LED as they were in when I bought it. They do give out excellent light, even though they are adjusted correctly I do get occasional flashes from approaching vehicles that thing im on high beam.

I would do a quick check before buying.

My RRS, manual says D2s, car takes D1s.
