Basic Radio replacement

Hi
Basic radio display has just went to black dots after the frosty / cold weather.

I was look at a used Alpine unit on ebay that appeared in a thread around 2014.

What are the current replacement option?

Few snow pics from last week attached.

Thanks

Nice shots Cool

Plenty available here on the head unit upgrade to DDin units but it's a trade off with losing some functionality ... like the clock on your dash for one.

strangethat it's done that to you. If you have the base mod, like myself, you should be able to pick up a replavcement unit handy enough.

Hows your radio signal btw?

Can live without clock on dash
Will I loose temp as well?

Temp will work.

If you have a display in your dials, you may not be able to change settings.

If you want to use the FM radio, you will probably need to fit a relay.

Going to hijack this thread!

To get the excisting steering wheel controls to work with an aftermarket radio, I cannot seem to find the infomation on what loom/adapter is required! I can't find a thread on it either!

(Plenty on fitting the controls with a normal LR head unit)

Thanks,

Lewis

I don't know if this works or not. Probably fixes half your issues

I expect you will need to run an ignition live from the green wire of the cigar lighter to the loom, like all adaptors
