Why the  before the £ ?
I've noticed in many post recently that when there's a '£' sign, in a lot of occassions its prefixed with an 'Â'
as below:
Quote:
£20
Is this something in my settings ?...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

It's a result of the big crash a few weeks back ron ...it's all over the site like a rash 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I was going to post about this ... Ron, you beat me to it.
I've also seen this on a couple of other forums I visit - at first I thought it was the IE8 browser in Windows 7 but it happens with Firefox, Safari & Chrome too

It's an encoding fault, when the big crash happened the database was rebuilt using a slightly different encoding, giving the leading Â. I have tried to apply a fix, but it actually made it worse (so I reversed it).
As it's not causing the site to be unusable, and it's still easily read as a pound sign, so I'm not too concerned about it at the moment.
It's on the list to get sorted, but would require the site to be closed for a few hours to rebuild the database again. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
